Paper Shades are composed of 5 components. Frames are made from recycled paper, with the top layer being virgin paper. Hinges and rivets are made from stainless steel and iron, respectively, which degrade in the elements. Packaging is crafted from glue-less interlocking virgin American kraft paper. The UV400 lenses are recyclable polycarbonate.

Resourcefulness and sustainable materials were prioritized. The lightweight and compact packaging reduces the carbon footprint during shipping.
